Orange & banana smoothie - it's that simple!

It's criminal how delicious and simple this smoothie is. You can add either vanilla, ginger, turmeric, lemon or lime to jazz it up a bit more.

Smoothie time!

I always have a smoothie mid morning and another mid afternoon to curb any sugar cravings. I previously used a juicer but the amount of  pulp waste made me rethink my smoothie/juice drinking habits. I then switched to a Vitamix 750 professional which has a smoothie/juice setting. The only waste is the core in apples and pears and the skins of very tough fruits such as pineapple. I buy wax free organic oranges which means I can bake the peel and then blitz to make roasted orange peel powder which is great in chai, cakes or sprinkled on porridge.

Yields1 Serving
Prep Time2 mins

1 serving is enough for 2 people

Ingredients

4 Large oranges with peel removed with a knife
 1 Large banana
 10 Ice cubes

This is my husband's favorite smoothie recipe, I prefer to add some fresh ginger or some cacao powder to keep things interesting!

Method

1

Add everything to your blender.

2

Whizz for a few seconds or until you have smooth consistency.

3

If you whisk too long the ice will melt and the smoothie will be warm

4

Decorate with chia seeds or cacao powder and some orange zest
