Welcome to my first post on my newly remodelled blog!
I’ve meddled with blogging before, but with so many distractions and channels, I didn’t post as often as I should. My interests are varied and I am not a good writer. More of a professional waffler than anything. Enjoy my first post, hopefully one of many to follow.
Early in 2018 I moved with my husband and two dogs to the mountain village of Salir on the outskirts of the municipality of Loulé, Algarve, Portugal. It’s been an eventful and enjoyable 12 months or so, learning a new language and finding my way around.
I will witter on about vegan food, health and wellness. I can see I am getting older when I look in the mirror but I truly do not feel older, so I must be doing something right!
Wild swimming, hiking, eating and general chit chat will feature along with photos will feature in this blog. No doubt, at some point I will add some dodgy vlogs which I really am too old to be attempting, but what the heck you only live once so I’ll give anything a go.
There will be recipes, I am always in the kitchen imagining flavours and testing out dairy free versions of sauces and cheese, not always to everyones delight. We live on a kind of farm, that hasn’t been a farm for many years. But there are remnants of a fruit orchard with plums, almonds, walnuts, olives, figs pomegranates, lemons, oranges and a bonus mulberry tree which I am rather excited about. Last year I ate my bodyweight in mulberries daily along with a terrible fig habit which kept me on my toes looking for toilet facilities each day.
A topic for the next few months will be my hair. I stopped colouring it in December so I am watching in horror as my whole head turns grey. I am hopeful that I shall become a silver haired inspiring goddess. We shall have to wait and see…until the next time! 🙂 x
